2014 Sbhansen Blog Year in Review
I began blogging in March of this year, and reached many goals, one of which was to simply paint every week and blog about it. That got me out of my non-painting funk and helped me find my Journey Back to Passion by Feeding the Beast! I grew in technique and style, and began to incorporate personal stories with my paintings, rather than only step-by-step guides. I began painting the popular Thirty-Dollar Thursday posts weekly, selling nearly every painting. In addition to hoping to inspire others, I found myself again and began to set career goals.
I cannot begin to tell you how much fun and how satisfying writing this blog has been. I will be the first to encourage any creative person to begin a blog and see where it takes you. I could not have predicted my personal and artistic growth I’ve accomplished this year and I owe almost all of it to my commitment to a weekly blog post. Looking forward to 2015, I’m planning to incorporate interviews with other artist’s techniques involving recycled materials, a gallery/portfolio to my site, reviews of materials, more how-to videos, and of course, MANY new, crazy paintings and their accompanying stories. Here’s to looking forward to 2015!
These stats WordPress.com put together illustrates the effort and fun I’ve had building this blog. My audience is growing every day. The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,800 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 47 trips to carry that many people.

Profound thoughts? Not so profound? I'd love to hear it!
