What a beautiful village.

Gubbio

Gubbio is near the foot of Mount Ingino in Umbria. It is a quaint little village with Basilica di Sant’Ubaldo near the top of the mountain, accessible by a steep trail, or a basket ski lift, for those who are daring. I wasn’t one of them!

A perfect photo for our figures lesson!

Gubbio is known for its ceramics and truffles, and its cobblestone streets and gorgeous architecture were captivating.

Streets were mildly busy this time of year.

Views from Palazzo dei Consoli…stunning.

Overlooking the town

For lunch, we shared Italian dishes of funghi porcini on bruschetta and pasta. Yum.

Clotheslines and laundry always captivate, especially when so simply done against old stone walls.

One of my favorite shops was scarf shop Mariagrazia Tonani, where the proprietress weaves lana (wool) and linen scarves from her loom within the store. If you are ever in Gubbio and have a chance to stop in, this woman is simply lovely and her scarves have an incredible hand. I had to purchase a wool scarf, of course.

I have no idea what these white flowers were, but they caught my eye in their simplicity. If you know what plant this is, please comment!

TINY car

Ciao until tomorrow my friends, when we resume our watercolor lessons.

Awww, Carol!!! My goodness, I am so happy to hear from you! We had SUCH a great time. I, too, have been experiencing flashbacks to my past trip, including ours. Thinking of all the laughing we did! We had a blast!! So happy you and Christy were able to join. XOXO

Not as of yet. I waffled between the green vs. the cobalt blue mix. Since my shift to grey hair, the blue colors seem better, so I went with the blue. You will LOVE it. The hand is so scrumptiously soft. Photo to come…hopefully. 😉
