What a beautiful view!

After a breakfast of fresh fruit, veggies, yogurt, eggs and pastries, we began our lesson of the day, with a focus on shapes and values.

Simplifying landscape forms
Planning values

Once we finished shape and value plans, we could then begin to translate those thumbnail studies into watercolor paintings.

Shapes and values inform color choices and placement

The day started out calm and beautiful, but turned windy in the afternoon. Everyone dissipated to select subjects that spoke to them. Some painted in windy areas, some chose areas protected by castle walls.

No matter the location, magical views existed everywhere!

So much to choose from!

We will be traveling to the nearby village of Gubbio tomorrow, to relax, shop, and enjoy the culture.

Ciao until tomorrow’s post!
